Well, this was short

Well, it turns out that this blog wasn't to be.

We had been monitoring Lucie, her breathing rate was still high but slowly reducing and all was looking positive. I went to pick up some new meds for her and was about to book her back in for a check up/ECG in October (before the insurance ran out and we could claim it). Fate stepped in unfortunately.

Tuesday night I was getting ready for my first hypnobirthing class. I had a shower and Lucie curled up on me, as she always does, and we had a lovely cuddle. I started getting dressed and heard an odd noise. Then again and my heart sank as I recognised the sound - Lucie had collapsed again.

We searched the house and found her in the airing cupboard (there was a hole in the bottom and the animals often sleep in there). She had indeed collapsed in the bottom. We took her out, she struggled a bit and we managed to get her into the bottom of a cat carrier. She had also lost control of her bowels, which didn't happen last time and was a bad sign. Joe phoned the vets to let them know we were on our way.

We rushed her in, hubby making the most of his blue light training, but unfortunately she died on the way to the vets. She was in my arms, being stroked and me telling her I love her.

Once at the vets they confirmed she had indeed passed and it looks like it was the cardio myopathy.

She has been cremated and returned home, but the house is not the same anymore and I miss her every day.
